Virta appoints Juhani Hintikka as CEO
Virta, the leading software and solutions provider for electric vehicle (EV) charging businesses, today announced the appointment of Juhani Hintikka as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Juhani Hintikka has held CEO and leadership roles at global software businesses, including Nokia, Comptel, F‑Secure, and WithSecure. He brings a proven track record of building technology business growth in complex environments and will be driving Virta's next phase as a leading EV charging business enabler and an integrator of EV charging and energy markets.
With customers operating charging point networks on the Virta platform in 36 countries, the compay has reached critical mass to lead industry consolidation and to accelerate participation in energy markets – a future key value driver for customers and a core engine of Virta's growth.
Juhani succeeds Christian Girardeau, who joined as interim CEO on January 1, 2025. As originally intended, he will return to his role as Chief Strategy Officer.
"I have strong confidence in Virta’s future growth under Juhani’s leadership. I would like to warmly welcome him to the company and to thank Christian for his strong contributions as the interim CEO. Virta is in a key position to develop the energy business further and to also grow through inorganic expansion," said Ms. Kirsi Komi, Chair of the Board of Virta.
"I am delighted to join Virta during a period of major transformation in the e-mobility space, as energy optimization and Virtual Power Plants play an increasingly strategic role for the industry and Virta’s customers. The electric vehicle fleet market is also becoming more mature, and with the recent acquisition of the Swedish fleet management software company Northe, Virta is well-positioned to grow and complement its existing strong offering," said Juhani Hintikka, the new Virta CEO.
