Kebony appoints Paul Clegg as Executive Chairman

Kebony, a leading global producer of high performance, innovative and sustainable modified wood, today announces the appointment of Paul Clegg as Executive Chairman.

Paul brings more than 25 years of board-level leadership experience across investment banking, sustainable technology, and industrial businesses. His appointment comes at a pivotal time for Kebony, as demand continues to grow for high performance, sustainable alternatives to tropical hardwood across global construction and design markets.

Paul began his career in investment banking, holding senior roles between 1982 and 2008, before moving into executive and non-executive board positions across healthcare, finance, and industrial sectors. He is particularly recognised for his strategic leadership in the commercialisation and industrialisation of sustainable materials for the built environment.

Most notably, Paul served as Chief Executive Officer of Accsys Technologies for twelve years, where he led a successful restructuring of the business and oversaw its international expansion. During his tenure, Accsys achieved a tenfold increase in sales, firmly establishing the company as a global leader in sustainable materials. More recently, Paul has been involved in the development of Honext, a business producing non-toxic, fully recyclable boards from upcycled industrial fibres.

As Executive Chairman of Kebony, Paul will work closely with the Board and leadership team to support the company’s strategic direction, governance, and long-term value creation, while contributing his extensive experience to the continued growth and industrial scaling of the business.

Commenting on his appointment, Paul Clegg said:

“I am delighted to join Kebony at such an exciting stage in its development. The company has built a strong reputation for product performance, innovation and sustainability, and I look forward to working with the team to help realise its full potential as demand for sustainable building materials continues to grow globally.”

Antoine Trannoy, Partner at Jolt Capital, commented:
“Paul brings a highly complementary combination of governance experience and operational leadership. His appointment reflects our conviction in Kebony’s long-term potential and our focus on building scalable, high-quality businesses with strong sustainability credentials.”

Kevin Bone, Partner at Lightrock, added:
“Kebony operates at the intersection of performance and sustainability. With Paul as Executive Chairman, the Company has strengthened the Board and the Executive and is well positioned to accelerate growth while continuing to deliver responsible, long-term value.”
