Jolt Capital leads €25m round in Phononic Vibes

Acoustics has one iron rule: to stop more noise, add more weight. Phononic Vibes breaks it. Its patented design engine shapes acoustic metamaterials that make noise control systems up to 30% lighter at equivalent acoustic performance. Already in service with Deutsche Bahn and in Mercedes-Benz series production, its technology has the potential to redefine noise control for data centres, railways, energy networks and factories.

Key financing points

●      Jolt Capital leads a €25 million financing round, alongside Eureka! Venture SGR, CDP Venture Capital SGR, Simest SpA, to accelerate Phononic Vibes' international growth.

●      The investment will enable Phononic Vibes to scale its proprietary design engine internationally, expand its technology into new applications and strengthen its delivery capabilities. Targeted acquisitions will complement this strategy by extending the reach of its technology and bringing additional industrial capabilities to the group.

Milan and Paris, [22 October 2026] · Phononic Vibes, the Politecnico di Milano spin-off, today announced a €25 million financing led by Jolt Capital, Europe's largest private equity firm specialising in deeptech growth companies, through Jolt Capital V, a fund targeting €1 billion and nearing final close, focused on European deeptech companies with strong international growth potential.

Every noise barrier, enclosure and silencer on the market obeys the mass law: more quiet means more material. Phononic Vibes designs metamaterials, structures whose shape does the work mass used to do. Its products weigh up to 30% less at the same acoustic performance or perform better at the same weight.

At the heart of the company is a proprietary design engine, protected by 18 patent families. It turns the physics of metamaterials into certified products, drawing on application libraries that grow with every project, so each new market starts from proven designs rather than a blank sheet.

Deutsche Bahn certified its transparent noise barrier for the German rail network, the first see-through panel it rates as highly absorbing. Mercedes-Benz uses its technology in series production, the first metamaterial in a series-production car. Contractors such as Webuild and Eteria choose its barriers because they install faster.

Founded in 2018 by Luca D'Alessandro, Giovanni Capellari and Stefano Caverni, the company designs and manufactures its products in Italy. Revenue has doubled every year since 2018, reaching break even in 2025.

The timing matters. One in five Europeans lives with harmful noise levels, and the World Health Organization ranks noise second only to air pollution among environmental health risks. Data centres, rail networks, energy assets and electric vehicles all need noise control that is lighter, smaller and certified, wherever they are built.

Luca D'Alessandro, CEO and co-founder of Phononic Vibes, said: "Weight has always been the price of quiet. We have shown it is a design choice, with two of Europe’s most demanding customers. With Jolt Capital by our side in this new chapter, and the continued support of our existing investors Eureka! Venture SGR, CDP Venture Capital and Simest, we can accelerate our international growth, expand into new applications and make lighter noise control the standard across data centres, rail, energy and industry. I would also like to thank 360 Capital for believing in us from the early days, when we were still working at the desks of Politecnico di Milano, and for being part of the journey that brought us here."

Andrea Traversone, Managing Partner at Jolt Capital, said: “Noise control is reaching a turning point. Conventional products have hit their physical limit, and infrastructure needs quieter assets with less weight and space. Phononic Vibes is a company combining breakthrough science, a patented design engine and manufacturing at scale. We are excited to back the team in building a global leader in noise and vibration control. This is Jolt Capital V’s first investment in Italy, a country with an increasingly dynamic and vibrant deeptech ecosystem.”

Stefano Peroncini, CEO at Eureka! Venture SGR said: "In deeptech, breakthrough technology opens the door, but execution is what builds a company. This is why we have reinvested in Phononic Vibes at every funding round. We have seen the team evolve from the exploratory phase of technology transfer, testing different applications and proofs of concept, to a focused industrial strategy built around clearly identified markets and real customer needs. That ability to combine scientific ambition with commercial discipline is what sets successful deeptech companies apart. We are delighted to continue backing Phononic Vibes as it enters its next stage of international growth"

Cesare Maifredi, General partner at 360 Capital Partners, said: “When I first met Luca, Giovanni and Stefano in 2019, Phononic Vibes was a bold idea coming out of the Politecnico di Milano labs. Seven years later, they have turned the physics of metamaterials into certified products trusted by hundreds of clients worldwide, built an industrial company and reached break-even. This is exactly the journey we at 360 Capital invest for: deeptech born in a European university that grows into a company with global reach. I am proud to have backed the team from the seed round and completed a successful exit. I hand over to Jolt Capital with confidence that they are the right partner for the next chapter.”

The transaction includes the acquisition of 360 Capital's stake, held since the company's seed round.
